UBCOM was at the FIC (International Cybersecurity Forum) 2023 in Lille

Considered as the largest cybersecurity event in Europe, the International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC) is a major opportunity for state and private actors to take part in current and future issues, as well as in international trade developments.

For the 8th consecutive year, the Swiss cybersecurity and secrecy consulting agency, UBCOM, was exhibiting in the Swiss pavilion at the FIC from April 5 to 7, 2023.

These three days were marked by strong moments, rich in meetings, debates and exchanges.

In particular the Swiss cocktail, organized by UBCOM and its partners, which allowed various actors of the cyber world to meet around local specialities (wines, cheese, meat of grison…). But also visits of various delegations on the pavilion, all under the Swiss cross, of course! UBCOM thanks the European Union Area for having invited for the first year, the pavilions of the countries and regions to intervene on current cyber topics.

Supported by our swiss partners, ELCASecurity & Senthorus, Exoscale, PRODAFT, Quantum Resistant Cryptography (QRC)Saporo, SHAREKEY Swiss AG, Starboard advisory,  Tune Insight , we were able to present our solutions and new offers to best meet the needs of organizations in terms of cyberdefense, secrecy protection and digital sovereignty.

As a result of all these opportunites, new collaborations and ideas to strenghten business protection, to develop partnerships and public/private supports have emerged.

First time under the flag of the Grand Duchy

Proof of its international expansion, the Benelux UBCOM entity was for the first time under the Luxembourg Pavilion. With our director entity, Yanniss Levron, UBCOM Benelux has welcomed for those three days of exhibition, several delegations to discover the solutions and innovations of local actors. The time of an happy hour offered by the Luxembourg house of cybersecurity (LCH), all the exhibiting companies were able to receive their clients, prospects and partners to meet the local network and create opportunities.

In terms of cybersecurity, we noted a singular progression of demands, in terms of sensibilisation and data protection through a protected cloud, as well as a renewed interest in services such as OSINT (open source intelligence).

Thanks to all the exhibitors of the Luxembourg Pavilion for their warm welcom under our flag :EBRAND, Ellipsys, Encryption Europe, ExaminExcellium Services, LetzRelay, LU-CIX, Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity, National Cybersecurity Competence Center (NC3), CIRCL (Computer Incident Response Center Luxembourg)MISP Project, Luxembourg Trade and Invest, LuxTrust S.A., passbolt, Rcarré (Rsecure).

A foretaste of the FIC at the Swiss Embassy in Paris

The day before the exhibition, the Swiss business hub France organized in partnership, with several swiss companies, a round table, at the Swiss Embassy in France. This event was an opportunity for exchanges and debates on topics such as hacking, ransomware, deepfakes, and cyberattacks.  Experts from the cyber domain brought their expertise related to the digital trust issues of today and tomorrow. During this round table, Frans Imbert-Vier reminded the importance of digital sovereignty and awareness in the face of increasing cyber attacks.

Among those present were Marc Watin-Augouard, founder of the FIC and head of the sovereignty, digital and cybersecurity major at IHEDN, Florian Schütz, Federal Delegate for Cybersecurity at the National Center for Cybersecurity (NCSC), Christophe Gerber, Vice President of the Groupe Romand Pour le Matériel de défense et de sécurité (GRPM), Jean-Yves Poichotte, Director of Information Security at SANOFI, and Lennig Pedron, Moderator and Director of Trust Valley.

Despite the unfortunate absence of governmental actors, UBCOM remains convinced that this event was a great opportunity to present its new cyber support offers, agile and customized to your IT environment. Whether you are a small business, a startup, a large company or an independent, our experts were available throughout the show to offer you the most appropriate solution to meet your needs. UBCOM’s CEO, Frans Imbert-Vier, spoke about the importance of assessing the sensitivity of an organization’s data in order to protect it.

As every year, we were delighted to meet you during these 3 days of exhibition, and we are convinced that you will be able to find the offer which will answer the most to your needs in terms of cyber protection.
